Tasting Notes

The bouquet opens musky and earthy, immediately after, in the chorus of sensations, the voice of smoothness stands out, with vanilla and a complex fruity hint, which unfolds for complete discovery in the mouth. Then comes an explosion of myrtle, juniper berries and the buttery sweetness of pollen dissolves the initial austere character. The sweet notes round off and refine the form, the smoky notes support the structure: it is a successful combination of smoke and cream. The perfume of heather whipped by a salty wind. A fire that has gone out, under a linden tree, in May. Laphroaig 1996 bottled: 2009
